We had a great time staying at Paws Inn with our 9 month old puppy. We were able to go skiing to Sunday River not worrying if he was ok.... read more Our dog could be a bit too energetic but Carol and her dog Kip looked after him while keeping him enetertained. Carol is a great host and an amazing cook - we were offered freshly baked cookies as well as wine and beer (no extra charge!!). The room was comfortable and very cozy as well. We are going back for sure!!

I stayed at The Paws Inn with my mom and our three smallish dogs around the Thanksgiving holiday. If you're looking for a getaway in the Bethel, Maine area AND... read more you're a pet owner, this is definitely the place for you. Unlike other inns in the area that claim to be "pet friendly", your pets are welcome to stay in your room even when you leave the premises. The pet play area off the kitchen is perfect for letting your dogs out if you don't have time to take them for a walk. The kitchen and living room/dining room are cozy and super clean, considering this is a dog friendly inn!
Carolyn, the innkeeper, is lovely and laid back. She makes your visit feel warm and welcome, like you're staying at a friend's house rather than at an inn. Carolyn's breakfasts are delicious! Her baked eggs and french toast are absolutely decadent! If you're looking for a quick breakfast, she puts out cereals and granola bars and keeps a fridge stocked with beverages for the guests. Kip, her German Shepherd/Collie mix is such a sweetheart, and got along well with my three dogs.
The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, featuring a queen size bed, sizable closet (large enough to fit plenty of luggage), two upholstered chairs, a flat screen TV with cable, and a roomy bathroom with walk-in shower. There was even space for an inflatable queen mattress on the floor. The inn offers free, fast wi-fi which was a huge plus! I was worried about being cold but the heating is great, and the thermostat is right outside the room for easy control.
The Paws Inn is super affordable and honestly the best place in Bethel for pet owners. Definitely pay it a visit; you won't be disappointed!

When we arrived at paws in, our dog was at home, but the dogs at the house made us feel so welcome!. Nevertheless, Carolyn recognized my boyfriend and asked about... read more his dog.. from years earlier. The room was cozy and confortable, a lovely bwd and shower. Carolyn took care of us like she was our grandma, offering cookies and tea before bed, and a delicious breakfast when we woke up. It rained while we were camping in the area, and she even called to make sure we were ok. I will never stay anywhere else in the area.
